Southwest Symphony Event

The Southwest Symphony is inviting you to WALK A MILE with them as they join the current exhibition at Western Heritage Museum for the Prelude weekend event hosted again this year by the museum.

We’re excited to be hosting the Prelude event for the Southwest Symphony.  Last year we had the Titanic exhibit and the Southwest Symphony musicians brought the exhibit to life.  This year you’ll be able to Walk a Mile in some of the Symphony member’s shoes as we add their shoes and stories to the exhibit of shoes from famous New Mexicans.  We love being able to partner with other entities around the community.” said Erin Anderson, Museum Curator.

Southwest Symphony has for the past few seasons partnered with local entities to create new ways to celebrate the opening of the Symphony season such as last year’s Titanic collaboration and is looking forward to showcasing the personalities and unique stories of its members, musicians and Hobbs’ native son, Dr. Mark Jelinek, the Artistic Director for SWS.

Executive Director Geni Cavanaugh said, “It’s great to kick off our Symphony season with the crew at the Western Heritage Museum as they have a great collaborative spirit and are game to try new things to bring more of the community out for the Arts.  When we partner, we always have a great combined evening!”

The event is Friday, September 29th from 6-8 pm at the Western Heritage Museum and is free and open to the public. For more information please call the Symphony office at (575) 738-1041.
