Join us for our first ever public Staked Plains Day!! Every year you may have heard your second grader telling you how much fun they had at Staked Plains Roundup, well, now's the chance for your entire family to experience the fun on September 16 from 10am-5pm.
This Saturday, join us at the Museum as we show you what the Staked Plains, or Llano Estacado, was like. We'll have spinners and weavers, blacksmiths, chuck wagons, and so much more to give you a little taste (pun intended) of a time when this was the Wild West. We'll also have dairy people show you the future of the Staked Plains.
You'll have the opportunity to taste authentic chuck wagon meals from 12-1pm if you purchase a ticket ahead of time. Chuck Wagon meal tickets are available by calling the Museum Store at 575-492-2678 and are $10 each. The meal includes chicken fried steak, potatoes, beans, bread and dessert. Drinks are extra. Only 240 meals will be available. Tickets will be sold at the Staked Plains Roundup event if they are not sold out before then.
Admission is FREE!! Bring the whole family out and enjoy a day at the Museum.
